Grounding

I think it was my Aunty Carol who first told me about "grounding". It's where you go bare feet on the lawn or in nature and get back in touch with the Earth. Or something like that. I think it's also called "earthing" actually.

I find it extremely therapeutic. If I sit outside of an afternoon I try to go bare foot on the lawn and just soak it up. The beach is another wonderful place to do it!

Mum, Elsie and I went to Rainbow Beach today. It's a beautiful spot. Touristy, but not as much as anywhere else on the Sunshine Coast. The drive to get there is slightly painful. It's not that far, but seems to take forever and is bumpy and there's always some idiot doing 80km in the 100 zone. Why, why, why? Who are you people???

Anyways, we got there. Despite my Dad and Husband both saying "you know it's going to rain?" it was a beautiful day. Beautiful temperature. Water was amazing. Elsie being scared of the waves meant sitting in the shallow so you get as much sand as possible up your hoo haa.

Mum, bless her, went back in with Elsie after snacks and I took the opportunity to lay down under the cabana and just live my best life in utter bliss. Quiet. Peaceful. Kid free. Wonderful, bliss. I needed it. Getting in touch with nature and just having some time to think without my phone. Every time I go the beach I say we should do it more often, but we never do.

Anyway after that, we had a lovely stop off at Seary's Creek. It's on the road to Rainbow Beach and an amazing spot. At about 4pm it had gotten quiet. It's a fresh water creek with a wooden deck walkway right down to the water. The water is crystal clear, and shallow enough that it's great for kids but adults can still lounge around. It's cold, but worth it! We had a dip and I was able to get all the sand out of all my bits. Then off home.

What a wonderful Saturday. Days like this make me so happy for where we live and the wonderful life I have.
